We are currently in Limon, Costa Rica. To the side is a picture of the port at 6:00 AM. I had to setup the Shore Excursion lecture in the main theater. It is a basic projector and one wireless mic show. Then, doing crew rounds to make sure the sound systems are on in all the bars. The view is beautiful with the fog over the mountains. Even during the day, the mist is so thick that you cannot tell the difference between the clouds and the mountains.

I am amazed at the amount of tourism that is brought to these ports by the ship. You can see the 13 tour buses and Topatch. I have been told that if I am not working on shore days, I can volunteer to help guide the passengers and do the tours for free, having small duties like counting passengers.

Due to a norovirus alert on the ship, crew is not allowed in passenger areas such as the buffet and on deck unless working. Everyone seems highly annoyed by this turn of events. It should last until atleast the 26th and hopefully clear when the next set of passengers arrive.

The ship will go back to Fort Lauderdale on the 24th. I will be sorry to see the person I am replacing, topatch, leave. He has been a great asset in my learning the rules and regulations of the ship. Today was Combusa, the once a cruise getting of alcohol that is duty free. Topatch walked me through the process as well after our theater maintenance time for the day.

I will be checking my voice mail in four days. Things are great and I am just starting to feel like I know what I am doing.

I'm on a boat!

Where I am now.

Things on the ship have been good. I am getting in to the vibe of how things work in the backstage and the hierarchy of management. It has been at least a day since I got lost in a stairwell.

In a nutshell, my life is a series of one to two hour work calls that facilitate the ship’s entertainment needs; from setting up sound outside for a guitarist by the pool or being backstage running shows. The skills necessary are quite basic but add all the work together makes a well rounded position that allows me to take time to myself and focus on relaxing and doing the complex show moves better.

The person that I am replacing is named T and he is a great teacher. My department is mainly Filipino guys in their mid 30s who have small children back home. They have worked for princess for 5-10 years and do stage crew as well. The production managers are also Filipino, except for a new head named _______. She is a good spirited woman in her mid 30s also that I have been getting along with very well.

After the shows are done, my Filipino coworkers spend their evenings hanging out in the hallway just outside of my room. I need to take a picture of this event, because it reminds me of college, including the security guards (reminiscent of RAs) that patrol nightly.

Tomorrow I will start using a Moleskine book that Kate gave to me. It will further just how white I am.

I am in port in Cartagena, Columbia. It is beautiful and 80 degrees.

Good morning 7:00 AM

I haven't seen you for awhile.

I will make best efforts to make this short:

To those that brightened my life, know that its only a few months.

To those I annoy, enjoy the next few months.

To the indifferent, I may or may not miss you.

And lastly, if I less than three you (and you know who you are), you are probably calling me a geek right now.

I posted this from my widget page

Maybe I should make this worth while.

Or not.

This has nothing to do with my personal life at all but I love the video and dialogue

Gnarls Barkley - "Who's Gonna Save My Soul?"

G: You do realize I’m breaking up with you?

B: That’s the strange thing. Its actually yours now. I don’t know how it works this way. I’m never going to be able to get over you. And so, From now on, every girl I meet is going to be meticulously compared
To you and unfortunately, none of them will be able to measure up to the false memory of what you and I once had

G: Maybe I can just use it for small things, for when I’ve had a really shitty day or I need someone to talk to or if I need someone to move something really heavy and then eventually, I’ll give it back to you when we find someone new?

B: Unfortunately, it won’t work that way.

G: Why Not?

B: Now that you have my heart, I am pretty much an empty cavity inside, for lack of a better term, heartless. I will now treat each woman I meet with a passive aggressive contentiousness, which will ruin relationship after relationship for many years to come.
