I miss the sun being normal at night.

For the first time since arriving on the ship, I have an urge to be in northern Wisconsin sitting on a bluff overlooking La Crosse. Alaska is amazing, but staying up all night just to take a field trip to watch the sunrise would be nice.

I say this because the sun rises at 2:00 AM here. Unlike the Caribbean, when we want to take some time to ourselves, smoke a nice Nicaraguan cigar, and enjoy the darkness on the front of the ship, we cannot because the sun is still up.

It is even worse in Whittier because the sun does not go down at night; it just stays behind the mountains. I do love me some Whittier for a variety of reasons but the sun issue bugs me to no end.

On a side note, my brother Calvin, an 8 week old Golden Retriever has now been brought home to my parent's home in Minneapolis.

The apple store is a dangerous place for me to go. Yay 32 GB Ipod Touch. Now I get to program it all up.

Nicaragua

Getting of the boat was an experience for a variety of reasons. First, the port had no dock for a boat of our size. We had to use the lifeboats to get ashore. That proved to be a rocky ride.

Here is a view from the beach.
It was the scariest moment of my trip off the boat.

I found a can of Old Milwaukee between a bottle of Sol and an MGD there as well. It was surprising on my hunt to find Nicaraguan cigars.

Here was a nice selection by the port that had a 80/20 ratio of fake to real cigars.

Above was my personal favorite marketing plan for a type of cigar.

Everyone keeping it classy

Some have a little much.

This is why we’re hot.

And sometimes, others get a picture of me when I don’t expect it.
